Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. She also sings. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that made her feel like someone who was not wanted. In her 9th year that she started to feel more confident after being highly praised at an audition. This not only increased her confidence but her dreams were changed. She graduated at the age of 22 with an education from the Julliard School in New York. As she was turning 23 she began her journey in Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, when she was 23 her first film debut was You've got mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she played the character of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway performance of Spamalot garnering not only her the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. In 2007, she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more well-known. The actress is also a renowned singer and has produced an extended show. In addition, she's an activist who fights for LGBT rights.
